The district of Terang and surrounds caters mainly for mixed farming, dairying and potato growing - though wool, fat lambs and beef are also produced. Terang provides good access to the tourist areas of Port Campbell and Peterborough to the south, Warrnambool to the west, as well as the Grampians in the north.
