Douglas Shire, in Tropical North Queensland, is the only place in the world where a rainforest meets a reef.

The Shire is renowned for its beauty, from the unspoilt beaches on the Great Barrier Reef to the lush Wet Tropics in the Daintree.

The Shire includes the tourism hotspot of Port Douglas and the business town of Mossman, as well as thriving beach, rural and Daintree communities.

The Douglas Gazette is a local and fiercely independent newspaper, publishing every second Wednesday.
