ENG Media is excited to announce the launch of a new weekly newspaper, Broken Hill Times, to be published each Friday from October 25, 2024.
The publication will provide comprehensive coverage of local news, sports, community events and activities in both print and digital formats.
With a mission to serve the people of Broken Hill and the surrounding areas, Broken Hill Times aims to become an integral part of the local community.

The Broken Hill Times will have a cover price of $3 and will be available at local newsagents, supermarkets, petrol stations, and other strategic retail outlets in Broken Hill and across the wider region in towns like Silverton, Wilcannia and Menindee.

Local reporters, advertising and support staff will be located in the newspapers office on Argent Street in Broken Hill, ensuring close ties with the local community and fostering engagement with residents.
ENG Media is an independent family-owned media company with more than 100 years of publishing history in regional Australia.

ENG Media owns and operates regional based community newspapers and news websites including Sunraysia Daily in Mildura, The Guardian in Swan Hill and Gannawarra Times in the Kerang/Cohuna region as well as the monthly North West Farmer publication.

Each masthead serves regional and rural communities across northwest Victoria and southwest New South Wales and reports on local news, sports, community events, and other relevant information.

The outlets are known for their in-depth coverage of local and regional affairs, culture, local sport and other issues. With this new venture, ENG Media expands its commitment to local journalism, focusing on the unique needs of the Broken Hill community.

“We are thrilled to be launching Broken Hill Times,” said Ross Lanyon, Managing Director of ENG Media.
Mr Lanyon also emphasised, “local newspapers are a cost-effective medium for local businesses, government services, and community organisations for product advertising, branding and other important messaging.
“The support of these sectors will be vital to the overall sustainability of publishing Broken Hill Times and help allow us to tell the stories that matter to the community.”

Broken Hill, known for its mining history and stunning outback landscapes, is a thriving regional community, with a population that values its heritage and strong sense of identity.

The introduction of Broken Hill Times comes at a crucial time, providing residents with a platform to stay informed about what’s happening in their area, that has been missing for some time.

In an age where national and international news often dominates headlines, Broken Hill Times will ensure that local issues remain at the forefront.
By focusing on the stories that matter most to Broken Hill, the new publication will serve as a vital source of information, entertainment, and connection for its readers. At its core, Broken Hill Times will aim to reflect the voices of its community.

ENG Media is committed to establishing a strong editorial team that will engage closely with local leaders, community groups, and residents to provide timely, accurate, and relevant news.

Broken Hill Times will act as a central hub for conversation, debate, and celebration of all things local.
