Prom Coast (Coastal Promontory Ward) is located in the South Gippsland Shire, 90 minutes southeast of Melbourne. Adjacent to the growing South East corridor, it is best known for rolling green hills, spectacular coastline, traditional country towns and villages, and the world-famous Wilsons Promontory National Park.
With a population growth of 1% our area has a strong economy, closely linked to food production (agricultural and food manufacturing sectors) and one of the most important dairy production areas in Australia. With Wilsons Promontory National Park & the Great Southern Rail Trail in our area, tourism is also a major industry, the South Gippsland region attracting 1.2 million visitors per year.
